A Cronus branch chipper cuts bark, branches, slab offcuts, bamboo and similar plant residues into chips, fibers, particles or finer material, depending on feedstock and configuration.

The mobile range is engineered around a high-inertia rotor, alloy knives and hydraulically driven feed rollers. Compact trailer models suit landscaping and orchard work; conveyor-fed and crawler options support larger, less uniform forestry material.

Branches and bamboo enter through the wide hopper. Chain conveyors are available for long, tangled or bulky material.

What materials can the machine process?

Tree branches, bark, slab offcuts, bamboo, bamboo skin and similar clean plant or forestry residues. Tell us about contamination such as soil, stone or metal before testing.

What capacity range is available?

The supplied specifications cover approximately 1-8 t/h. Capacity depends on model, species, moisture, diameter, branch shape, feeding consistency and desired output.

What branch diameter can it handle?

Feed throat sizes range from 300 × 200 mm to 860 × 480 mm across the documented models, but a throat dimension is not the same as guaranteed solid-log diameter. Send the maximum and typical branch diameter for confirmation.

How does intelligent feeding prevent overload?

The controller monitors engine speed and load. It stops the feed rollers under high load and resumes them after recovery. The action range can be set, and automatic/manual selection is available.

Can I control the finished chip size?

Chip form is affected by knife setup, feed rate, species, moisture and screen or downstream configuration where applicable. A sample test is recommended when size tolerance matters.

When should I choose a chain-feed model?

Choose chain feed for long, tangled, leafy or bulky residues that need a stable support surface before they reach the compression roller.

Towable or crawler: which is better?

Towable units move efficiently between accessible sites. A crawler model is better where self-propelled movement, uneven ground or limited towing access is the priority.

What are the main wear parts?

Moving knives, the fixed knife, feed components, belts or couplings, bearings and filters require planned inspection. Wear rate depends heavily on feedstock cleanliness and operating hours.

How often should knives be sharpened?

Inspect cutting edges routinely and sharpen when chip quality falls, power demand rises or feeding becomes less smooth. There is no universal interval because abrasive bark, soil and dry hardwood change wear quickly.

What safety features are included?

Configurations may include feed stop/reverse control, emergency stop, engine monitoring, overload-responsive feeding, lighting and guarded drive components. Final safety scope is confirmed in the order specification.

Can the discharge direction be changed?

Yes. The documented range uses a quick-adjust 360-degree discharge chute with height adjustment for directing chips into a pile or collection vehicle.

What information is needed for a quotation?

Provide material type, typical and maximum diameter, moisture, required tonnes per hour, target chip size, mobility preference, destination country and local emissions or road requirements.
